Smart ward empowers hospitals staff to focus more on patients by reducing the burdens, best practice and reduces stress through discrete reminders and make patient more comfortable admitted at ward. This project basically addresses the problem that nurses faces in their everyday life in hospital. This project basically addresses the problem that nurses faces in their everyday life in hospital. The main part of this system is automatic medicine dispenser. This medicine dispenser here dispense medicine on its on according to the time set by nurse on their systems. Let say every two hours or four the medicine will dispense on it own when time comes. The water dispenser which is integrated together with the system dispense water once the user has to set temperature they want. As soon as they put their cup inside, water will dispense. We found that the workload of the nurse is heavy where at time they forget to deliver medicine on time. We have come up with this automated medicine dispenser which will dispense medicine on time. The speaker here will notify the patient to take medication. The IV fluid automatically sends a message to the nurse when there is no saline solution in the saline bottle. On of the greatest advantages of our projects is the easy interface with users, the functionality of which can be managed by mobile applications as all the sensors are connected to the cloud using internet. The sound sensor over here detects the sound level at the bed. At times, the visitors tend to be noisy and this might affect the patients. The patients might not be able to rest well. In conventional systems, there will be a security guard who will be keeping an eye on the noise level in the wards. Since the sound sensor is connected to cloud, he/she will be able to monitor the sound level without having the necessity to walk around. The air quality system will certainly help to monitor the surrounding air. We are detecting a few types of gases such us CO2 and Smoke. A healthy environment is good for patient to get well soon. We come out with this simple solution. Also, the light here is connected to cloud. The nurse will be able to control the ward light in a single press IOT protocol. We a using blynk app to control. This will allow the nurses to perform others work such as taking blood pressure reading from patient and giving injection to patients on time. We can give full assurance this idea would be grade implements in all hospitals to reduce the workload of a nurse. Private hospitals might have better equipment’s, but they a expensive where the government hospitals might not be able to afford those. Our projects is highly welcome by a few panel doctors in Malaysia as we spoke to them before attending this events.
SMART WARD (IOT)
Short Description:
As National Health Policy 2018 aims to raise the public health care expenditure from 1.4 % to 2.5%, we came up with this idea of improving the systems in hospital which will eventually helps to provide the benefits to patients and nurses. Our findings show that this creation is work-friendly, eco-friendly and quick in alerting notifications. Most importantly, helps to reduce the workload of the nurses and security guards. Smart ward empowers hospitals staff to focus more on patients by reducing the burdens, best practice and reduces stress through discrete reminders and make patient more comfortable admitted at ward.
