Until Oct. 2020, the numbers of confirmed cases and death cases of COVID-19 have reached 34 million and 1 million, respectively. Disinfection is an important way to fight against COVID-19, because disinfection can effectively isolate the route of virus transmission. However, manual disinfection is inefficient with high cost. Also, there is a high risk of human infection. This project invents a quadrotor UAV to do an efficient disinfection against COVID-19. It develops a disinfectant spraying device with a disinfectant bottle and triode circuit for pump valve control, along with Arduino Nano control board and Bluetooth remote control module. The optimal spraying height has been determined by experiments for efficient indoor disinfection. The developed disinfection UAV with remote control can replace human to spay 75% alcohol or other disinfectants for automatic disinfection. By man-machine separation and remote control, it can greatly reduce the risk of human infection and the cost to fight against COVID-19.
