Electricity powered tools and machinery have been widely used in daily lives. The safe operation of the electric motor is therefore essential. This invention presents a novel device based on the EM principle for detecting Rotor Winding Inter-turn Short-circuit Fault. It allows users to accurately determine the current condition of a RW, preventing catastrophic motor failure. The device consists of two parts: (1) EM generator that energizes RW-IT; (2) EM probe precisely positioned a ferrous metals strip near the RW under test for detecting ITSCF through mechanical vibration. Besides, satisficing the market's need for a high performance, low-cost, easy-to-operate fault detection device.
A New Method for Detecting the ITSCF in Rotor Winding of Electric Generator
Short Description:
This invention presents a novel device based on the EM principle for detecting Rotor Winding Inter-turn Short-circuit Fault. It allows users to quickly and accurately determine the current condition of a RW, preventing catastrophic motor failure.
